A dream to build a family called OMAX
More than four decades ago, six friends shared a dream - to take
the Indian automotive sector to another level and build an institution that would help shape
the country's auto-component industry.
What began modestly, on three acres of land, has today grown into
Omax Autos Limited - a publicly listed tier-1 manufacturer serving the commercial-vehicle,
railway and heavy-fabrication sectors. The Company was an initiative of Mr. Jatender Kumar
Mehta, today Vice Chairman & Managing Director, and the founding concept was shaped with
former Hero Group chairman Mr. Raman kant Munjal, who brought the six friends together around
a shared sense of purpose, commitment and mutual support.
Through changing market cycles, the Company has continually
evolved - sharpening its engineering capability, consolidating its manufacturing footprint
and building enduring partnerships. In 1986, OMAX became a stock-listed company, and it has
since earned a range of national and international accreditations.
